"Clearing a value, or removing its line, REMOVES what it feeds rather than leaving a hole — empty the event and the event card goes; empty its end time and the card stays but loses its countdown. A value the page cannot read costs only the thing it feeds, never the page."

"featured — the article in the big featured card, and the picture behind it. Just the file name, as with the hero. Clear the picture and the card falls back to a placeholder."
"event — the event card. starts/ends drive its countdown, written YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM in UTC. Leave starts empty for something already under way. See PICKING AN EVENT PICTURE below for banner and image."
"patches — the build chips at the top of the page, one per entry. channel LIVE gets the filled marker and its entry also fills the 'this patch' card; anything else gets the hollow one. Add a chip by adding an entry."
